Your Thermostat

Thermostats usually have a factory set point, until you change it.

If it gets too cold, it automatically increases the heat or reduces the cool. If it gets too hot, the opposite.

How easily you achieve your goal, is in part or full, determined by your internal thermostat.

Example:

Let’s say, your top priority goal at the moment is changing your weight – either decreasing it or increasing it.

Let’s say, you want to weigh 64kg and at the moment you weigh 85kg. And no matter how hard you’ve dieted, exercised and every other suggested action, there’s been little to no change and/or your weight has been going up and down like a yo-yo.

A big factor in this may well be the settings on your internal thermostat.

You may still be on the factory setting, passed down from the family line. And/or you have unconsciously set your lower level at 75kg, so whenever you drop below that, you unconsciously make choices that return you to 75kg.

Equally, you’ve unconsciously set your top level at 85kg, so whenever you go above that, once again, you’ll change the choices you make, to drop you down though never below 75kg.

That said, if you don’t have your thermostat set at a top level, you may just keep adding weight. Equally, if you don’t have a set bottom level, you may keep losing weight, no matter how much you eat, try to build muscle bulk etc

The same applies to every life area – money, friends, happiness, energy, opportunities, you name it.
