A Twist in the Tale

Have you ever been told, “what you resist persists”? 

Well it’s true. Only here’s the twist. 

I’ll bet you’ve been told and/or modelled by ‘others’ and therefore now believe, that you’re resisting unpleasant physical symptoms, emotions, thoughts and/or situations. 

What if I told you, it’s the complete opposite.

STEP 1

Make sure you’re 100% connected to your GPS.

Like electricity, the better connected you are, the more you power up the insights. The more powerfully you achieve your goal.


STEP 2

With your present, top priority goal in mind, how many things are you resisting? Note the number.

What are they? Be prepared to be surprised!

Here’s some possibilities for you to check with your GPS. Your GPS may well offer others as well. 

Which of the following are you resisting? There may be more than one.

  3. Fun
  4. Excitement
  5. Peace 
  6. Energy
  7. Freedom
  8. Contentment 
  9. Abundance 
  10. Love
  11. Kindness
  12. Compassion
  13. Support
  14. Romance
  15. Passion
  16. Empowerment 
  17. Enlightenment 
  18. Fill in the gap…(check with your GPS)

STEP 4

Which of the following are creating the twist? Again, there may be more than 1. 

I believe…

  1. It’s impossible to get it, be it…so I’ll aim for less, maybe far less
  2. I believe that if I get it, it will be taken away
  3. I believe it’s too hard, cause I’ll have to make too many changes
  4. I believe I’ll have to sacrifice things to be it, have it, get it…
  5. I’m not smart enough, consistent enough, determined enough, rich enough, …enough to get, have and/or keep it
  6. What I want doesn’t matter, it isn’t important
  7. Getting what I want will hurt others
  8. Getting what I want will mean others miss out
  9. You have to work hard, be serious, do more, …more to succeed. 
  10. I have to do it by myself, on my own
  11. No one will support this crazy idea
  12. I don’t trust others will help me or can do so 

Your GPS may well come up with other non-serving beliefs. 


STEP 5

Let’s untwist the tale. 

Here’s the fun thing. Now you are aware, your brain can no longer hold those non-serving beliefs. Your brain is now actively looking for proof that challenges these non-serving beliefs.  

Hint:
You can’t change what you don’t realise consciously. 


Here’s a few useful choices to up the ante

  1. Affirm daily: If others can have it, be it, do it…so can I!
  2. Start finding and mixing with people who already have what you want. 
  3. Acquire the skills. Check with these successful people, online, books, articles etc for the steps that create their success. Then go for it.

As always, your GPS may well offer other attractive, useful choices. 

Reminder: Only choose manageable, achievable, believable, easy, graceful, joyful baby steps.
