Loving Yourself

Self-Love: A Daily Ritual of Compassion

Self-compassion is a vital part of self-care. It’s about treating yourself with the same kindness and understanding you’d offer a dear friend. Research shows that self-compassion can reduce stress and anxiety, and improve emotional well-being .

 Daily Self-Compassion Practices

Choose any of the following that resonate with you:

  • Give yourself a warm hug.
  • Rock yourself gently.
  • Place a hand over your heart.
  • Smile lovingly at yourself in the mirror.
  • Stroke your face, arms, or head.
  • Wriggle or shake it out.
  • Stretch your body.

Then, say to yourself:

  • “There, there, sweetheart, it’s okay to feel…”
  • “It’s okay.”
  • “All is well.”
  • “Just take some slow, deep breaths.”
  • “Everything’s working in your favor.”
  • “You’re home now.”

With love
